A state-wise breakup of the expenditure habits among Indian households showed that Sikkims urban households were spending the most ( 7,731 per capita per month), followed by Chandigarh ( 7,467)..

Chhattisgarh with a per capita monthly spending of 4,483 in urban households and 2,466 in rural households was at the bottom of the list..
