A three-member Special Investigation team (SIT) has been formed and that SIT headed by the additional commissioner of policehas given a report that the Investigating Officer had made a procedural error and that finding is there on the basis of which the SIT has also recommended inquiry against the IO..

Prashad further said, Second part of the step taken by the Director General of Police is that circulars and directions have been issued to all the Thanas at the NCR level that no such process and action should be taken in all the Porous thanas where they travel into the state of Delhi without informing the local police and no such action should be taken without the permission of the higher authorities...

The court was hearing the plea by a couple a 21-year-old man and a 19-year-old woman who, seeking protection against threats made by the girls relatives, claimed that on the intervening night of February 16 and February 17, certain persons, believed to be from UP police, lifted them and brought them to Modi Nagar police station in Ghaziabad...
