"Key interventions include prompting use of renewable energy, reducing air emissions, optimising water usage, improving solid waste management and lowering carbon emission per tonne of cargo handled by 30% by 2030, and 70% by 2047," the official quoted above said.. Ports will also be required to increase the green cover to capture the fugitive emissions and attenuate the noise generated in the port surroundings..
