The high court had previously dismissed the summons sent by the ED to Balaji and others concerning a Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA) case.. The minister was out for a morning walk when the ED initiated the searches..

Balaji was in the news two days ago after he was blamed for the sudden power outages near Chennai International Airport that coincided with Union Home Minister Amit Shahs convoy movement..
