Dipan Mehta, Director, Elixir Equities, says when it comes to Adani Group companies, because of the structure and because of the heightened trading interest in these stocks, even minor, relatively lower purchases made by traders or long-term investors or institutional investors tend to take the price higher and that is why we see these fantastic moves on the upside as well as on the downside in the Adani Group companies...

What do you make of the flare up that we witnessed in the Adani group of stocks yesterday?.

Given the kind of structure of the equity which is quite concentrated and a lot of trader interest also is usually there in Adani group companies. this particular rally may have more strength and we may see more upside gains in Adani group companies..

I have been watching this group in last two-three years or so and I have to candidly say that there is a lot of trader interest in Adani Group stocks and the shareholding pattern, as you know, because of large holding by the promoter and promoter related entities is very concentrated, promoter group holdings are very high..

But we have a lot of traders and they may be having positions in Adani Group companies but from an investment perspective, I must say that no, we do not have any investment in Adani Group stocks in our long-term portfolios; but yes, a lot of trader interest..
