The 22-year-old victim identified as V Priyadarshini from Coimbatore city in Tamil Nadu was cheated out of 14 lakh by an unidentified man who promised to help her get a KFC restaurant chain franchise in the city..

"He then emailed her details with the KFC logo and asked her to transfer 1.5 lakh to his account, which she did on February 14, for processing work,' a police officer said as quoted by TOI...

While the investigation is ongoing, it is important to note that in this case the victim was tricked into transferring money to a fraudster who posed as a representative of a well-known fast food brand..

The fraudster used a fake advertisement and false promises to convince the victim to transfer money for the purpose of obtaining a franchise..
