Gadkari approves Rs 2,249 cr for construction of Lada-Sarli section on Frontier Highway in Arunachal

Nitin Gadkari said that this transformative 61.55 km road, developed on EPC (engineering, procurement, and construction) mode, promises enhanced connectivity to border areas, fostering socio-economic development. He also said crucially, the Frontier Highway aims to curb migration, encouraging reverse migration towards Arunachal Pradesh's border regions.

The Ministry of Road Transport and Highways has approved Rs 6,728.33 crore for the construction of eight stretches of NH-913 in Arunachal Pradesh, aiming to enhance connectivity, foster socio-economic progress, and curb migration. The road will also establish crucial road infrastructure, linking river basins and facilitating hydropower projects.

The Union minister also announced the Rs 13,000 crore Morbe-Karanjade road project that will pass through the Jawaharlal Nehru Port in Navi Mumbai.

According to the statement, the road transport and highways minister said the work of construction of the proposed 14 km bypass in Pratapgarh at a cost of Rs 309 crore will also start soon.

Endorsing Yogi Adityanath's leadership, Gadkari said that the law and order situation in the state is a matter of discussion across the country.

Union Minister Nitin Gadkari inaugurated and laid the foundation stones for 29 national highway projects worth Rs 4,000 crore in Punjab. The projects include the Ladhowal bypass in Ludhiana, a six-lane flyover, a two-lane road overbridge in Ludhiana, the four-laning of the Jalandhar-Kapurthala section, and three bridges on the Jalandhar-Makhu road.

These 254 towers will provide 4G coverage in 336 villages, including several areas which have remained unconnected since Independence. Over 70 thousand people are expected to be benefitted from this service. The Union government had approved ₹2605 cr for providing connectivity to more than 3,721 villages in Arunachal Pradesh.

A senior National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) official said that this stretch will provide Delhi-Kolkata and Mumbai-Kolkata connectivity via Jamshedpur, significantly reducing travel time between the destinations. The project will also drive commercial development in the Jharkhand, West Bengal and Odisha, he stated.
