A three-judge bench headed by Chief Justice of India (CJI) D Y Chandrachud asked both the sides to share names of candidates with each other before the central government provides a list of the shortlisted ones on Tuesday...

The bench was hearing a petition filed by the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP)-led Delhi government against any move by the Centre to extend the tenure of the incumbent Delhi chief secretary Naresh Kumar or appoint a new chief secretary withouta discussion on the issue...

Speaking for the bench, the CJI verbally remarked that the Centre and Delhi government should provide a "workable solution"..

Then they (the Delhi government) will pick one name. from that," he said.. Solicitor general Tushar Mehta accepted the SC's proposal and said he would return to the court with the list of shortlisted candidates...
