Sitharaman will present the sixth Budget on February 1, where she will outline the roadmap for 2024-25. In the post-budget meeting, the finance minister will address the board members and talk about announcements made in the interim Budget 2024-25. The meeting is being held shortly after the Budget session, as well as the last session of the 17th Lok Sabha, which comes to an end on February 9.

Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman spoke in the Rajya Sabha, highlighting the Modi governments economic achievements and development since the UPA government. She criticized the opposition for their ‘Gareebo Hatao slogan and commented on the state of the banking sector. Sitharaman stated that the Indian economy is in a unique and rare position in the world, and several global agencies, along with the RBI, predict growth prospects.

She highlighted macroeconomic stability, robust investments, improved economy, increased average real income by 50%, moderate inflation, and effective program delivery.

The interim budget will take care of the financial needs of the intervening period until a government is formed after the Lok Sabha polls.
