Omar Abdullah slams Centre on terror attacks: Who's responsible for deaths?

National Conference (NC) leader Omar Abdullah on Monday hit out at the central government over the spike in terror attacks in Jammu and Kashmir..

He said the Centre used to indulge in blame games by pointing fingers at previous governments for the past attacks and that it was now responsible for the fresh attacks in the Union Territory...

In an interview with India Today Consulting Editor Rajdeep Sardesai, Abdullah, a former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister, Abdullah said the Centre should be held accountable for the terror attacks in the Union Territory in the past few weeks...

"If we were responsible for the deaths that took place when we were in power, completely absolving Pakistan from their responsibilities, then you can't choose to blame Pakistan today," he said.. Abdullah's remarks came after four Army personnel, including an officer, and a police personnel were killed during a gunfight with heavily armed terrorists in Jammu and Kashmir's Doda district on Monday..

If you use this same yardstick, this government is responsible for taking its eye off the ball for allowing gaps in our counter-terrorism operations and to develop a situation in Jammu, whereby the terrorists can strike at will," Abdullah said...
