The industry executives and pilots ET spoke with said the flight cancellations started after Vistara offered pilots a new contract as part of the merger process with Air India...

"Though a common seniority list has been promised, there is no clarity yet on whether Vistara pilots will retain their seniority list after the merger, as Air India has also hired pilots aggressively," a pilot said...

On March 15, in an internal communication seen by ET, Vistara warned its pilots that failure to accept the new contract by the end of the day will result in forfeiting a one-time payout and imply a lack of interest in joining Air India after the merger..
