The Lok Sabha has passed the National nursing and Midwifery Commission Bill, 2023 and the National Dental Commission Bill, 2023 aimed at improving the quality of nursing and dental education in India. The National Dental Commission Bill proposes to establish a commission to regulate dental education and the profession while the National nursing and Midwifery Commission Bill seeks to establish a similar commission and repeal the Indian nursing Council Act of 1947.
