More flights coming to Chennai Airport soon as AAI plans big modifications

As per a ToI report, the Airports Authority of India (AAI) is planning to modify the old international departure terminal (T4) and an unused arrival terminal on the ground floor to serve domestic flights..

These additions will create two domestic terminals, one on each side of the integrated international terminal, with interlinking facilities for transit passengers...

With the conversion of terminals for domestic passengers, Chennai Airport is likely to receive more flights during the summer schedule..

Some flights will be rescheduled outside peak hours to alleviate congestion during busy periods, as the airport presently manages over 30 domestic arrivals and departures in the mornings and evenings...
