In an Office Memorandum released on August 10, 2023, the DoPT mentioned how certain charges related to air travel or rail travel would be reimbursed to those Central Government employees who are eligible for LTC..

The DoPT clarified that it would reimburse the cancellation charges of air tickets cancellation charges levied by the airlines and cancellation charges levied by the three authorised travel agents including IRCTC, Balmer Lawrie & Company Limited (BLCL) & Ashok Travels & Tours (ATT), on the ground of official exigencies..

The DoPT mentioned that Central Government employees, not entitled to air travel, are no longer required to book their tickets mandatorily through the three authorised travel agencies (ATAs)..

However, in the case of the Special Dispensation Scheme, the Government employees not entitled to air travel under LTC, but wish to travel by air to the intended place of visit in NE region, UTs of J&K, Ladakh, A & N, are required to book their air ticket through three ATAs only, it added...
