The ministers comments come amidst the massive disruption caused at Delhi Airport on Sunday due to severe fog that caused significant disruptions to flight operations leading to delay of over 500 flights...

Following the disruption, civil aviation regulator DGCA has released a Standard Operating Procedure(SOP) to better manage passengers during delays or cancellations caused by fog or other unfavorable weather conditions..

Later speaking to reporters, Scindia said that strict action will be taken against airlines who are found not to be adhering to the rules.. The regulator has slapped a penalty of Rs 3 crore on IndiGo, SpiceJet, Air India and Mumbai Airport for not having enough pilots trained to fly in low visibility conditions and including the incident in which passengers of its delayed flight were seen eating on the tarmac of Mumbai Airport...
