Apple CEO Tim Cook met with Reliance Industries Ltd chairman Mukesh Ambani and other top executives in Mumbai ahead of the opening of India's first Apple Store. Discussions reportedly covered Apple's retail plans in India, local manufacturing and sourcing, and the growth of 5G services in the country. Cook is also expected to meet with Prime Minister Narendra Modi and ministers from the IT and telecom ministries ahead of the store opening in Delhi on Thursday.

Apple is gearing up to open its first ever retail store in India at Mumbai's Jio World Drive mall. Ahead of the store launch, CEO Tim Cook said that he is excited to build on the company's long-standing history in India.

On Wednesday, the tech giant shared a ‘teaser’ of the retail outlet, which is inside the Jio World Drive Mall at Bandra Kurla Complex.

Apple will open its store in Mumbai's Jio World Drive mall (Bandra East) and Delhi's Select Citywalk mall (Saket). The space in Mumbai will reportedly be bigger.

The Apple store at Jio World Drive in Mumbai's Bandra Kurla Complex (BKC), which will open at 11 am, is spread over 20,000 square feet over two levels, about a third the size of Apple's flagship store in New York but similar to its outlet on London's Regent Street. It will employ some 100 people who together can speak 25 languages.
